We have occasionally seen situations where the Meeting Room app displays an event name twice - instead of displaying it once with the organiser's name. In these scenarios you need to get your calendar's system administrator to check how bookings are being created and sent through your calendar.
Meeting Room displays two items, both which are read from the configured iOS calendar:
- The title/name of the booking event.
- The organiser of the booking event, who sent the invite.
The exception to this is if a meeting has been marked as a Private meeting in a supported calendar system. Private meetings will display as "Private Meeting" with the organiser hidden.
Before reporting a bug in Meeting Room, we recommend checking the built in Calendar application that comes with your iPad. Find the Calendar App to load it:
Find your event and tap it to display the full information:
If the Title and Organiser (Invitation from...) are displayed properly there, please contact us to investigate further. If they are not displayed properly in the calendar, there is likely a data synchronisation issue in your calendar system. This is not something we can resolve for you, but your system administrator needs to know that the title and organiser are the important fields.
Many offices have traditionally used a self-hosted Exchange server and are now migrating to an online Office365 server. We have seen configuration issues arise where the calendar synchronisation between Exchange and Office365 is incorrect. This can result in data corruption such as the title of a meeting creating in one system being set to both the title and organiser name of the other system. Your system administrator will be able to resolve this issue.
